a somewhat reserved individual, bjorn has become accustomed to being picked on by others. he often does not always fit into groups, though he attempts to be cordial. he attempts to be thoughtful, but is not always successful.he is analytical and intelligent, weighing his options when going into new situations. he is not a risk-taker and will err on the side of caution if it seems like there may be net losses or confrontation. he is a cowardly sort, opting out of fights by either flight or talking his way out of it.despite this, he is fair and reliable in low-stress situations. he doesn't like to watch people suffer for no reason, but he won't go out of his way to be a saviour. if he's agreed to do something, he will see it through. he will be blunt and always give his honest opinion when asked, without sparing of feelings. if he's wronged, however, he can be rather spiteful.he's most talkative when someone captures his interest.

headcanon one. while bjorn spent time in ishgard, his time spent at the athenaeum astrologicum was short. he did not pick up the cards, only the stars.
headcanon two. bjorn secretly writes poetry in some of the moleskin journals he keeps. he doesn't let anyone see this. it's written in his native, home tongue.
headcanon three. he will sometimes overspend as he has a difficult time saying no to those he cares for. he will secretly go out and pickpocket or steal to make up the difference. one of his lesser flaws.

ability one. his sense of smell and hearing is higher than an average individual, due to his vieran heritage. against his own kin, though, this is often a normal level. he's not particularly aether sensitive in this regard.
ability two. he's quite handy with machinery due to his internship at the skysteel manufactory during his time at ishgard.

bjorn was born on a relatively moderate winter morning.he was the first of possibly many kits, a tender boy who didn't cry very much. his parents were a prideful jack and a subdued doe, both equally tainted by the bred expectations of their secluded village. still, they were not bad parents and never treated bjorn harshly. only tried to teach him the ways of their kinfolk.their family was subject to scrutiny within their tribe from the distant veena relative that bred in their trademark lighter skintone comparative to their neighbors. not ostracized, but not totally accepted either.bjorn would present his male characteristics at the age of 13 summers -- quickly being swiped up by a mentor warder for subsequent apprenticeship. it was quickly apparent that he was not born for the isolation and the inherent violence that came with becoming a warder. his tenure under his mentor was brief, despite his teachers best attempts at preparing him for his potential future.

at 15 summers of age, bjorn had effectively self-exiled from his home village.he found under his two years of apprenticeship that he was too subdued, too combat avoidant, to be worth anything to the warders. he instead sought for education that would otherwise not be afforded to him and longed for the deeper emotional connections that his male-presenting kin often did not receive.despite his love for his village, bjorn djt-setlas packed what little personal effects he had and begun his journey into the wider, new world in search of something more fulfilling.it would be a decision his parents didn't understand. perhaps his mother did, quietly and knowingly in the way she did, but his father was deeply upset by his decision. still; both parents loved their son deeply and did not attempt to stay his decision. they only packed him food from home and bade him words of wisdom as he embarked on his new chapter in life.

LORE : new beginnings .

the first location that bjorn found himself in was the shoreline of limsa lominsa. his arrival in there opened up a new door to education. he took up tutorship in the arcanist's guild where the guildmaster was keen to get him properly up to speed on his foundational education. bjorn was a gifted learner and took to the craft like a bird to the skies, or fish to water. however, his innate talent towards the arcanist abilities was turbulent at best. he struggled with maintaining familiars, but thrived under other magical means.after reaching a suitable age within the arcanist's guild, the guildmaster implored him to travel to ishgard in the hopes that he would find a fitting subject of study. whether this was meant to drive him towards the astrologicum or not, he cannot say, but at the proposition of an internship in engineering -- it was a deal sold.initially in ishgard, bjorn would begin his apprenticeship at the skysteel manufactory where he would continue studies within the engineering sphere. while he delved into the work of a machinist, he also most often handled a lot of clerical and ledger-work for the manufactory as he quickly found that he excelled in accounting and numbers keeping.his intended stint in ishgard was brief, only 5 years of his time, but during this phase he found himself dipping his fingers into various facets of ishgardian culture. he quickly learned that the religious sect was not within his realm and shied away from the churches. much to his former guildmaster's joy, he found that he did thrive within the athenaeum astrologicum --though this was discovered into the final year and a half of his time in the city.

during that time, he dedicatedly studied the skies above them, the stars and the celestial bodies. he learned of the constellations, their meanings, how to read them and navigate them and speak their languages. he learned how to utilize the arcane to perform light healing -- only he did not have the time for the cards.upon finishing his internship and leaving ishgard, bjorn would travel back to his original grounds of limsa lominsa. armed with furthered education, a hand in engineering, and a love for the stars, he would seek out what he hoped would be his career.initially he found himself working as a dockhand at the shipyards, then was secured as a navigator for a ship crew. upon this crew, he'd found a love that he'd hoped would last a lifetime. a bittersweet confession and a string of going wrongs though, and he was left heartbroken and lost. this caused a rift upon the ship, one that bjorn could no longer stomach.unable to deal with the suffocation of being in such close quarters with them, bjorn decided to abandon that chapter of his life. he shifted back to the mainland in order to try and reestablish an identity separate of those who had ruled his life up to this point; coming across a peculiar kinfolk rava woman who was keen on more often than not getting him into a tangle of trouble.nevertheless, the two share a fascinating bond. unbreakable, to a point.

hook one. as a feol rava, bjorn often feels a sort of kinship with other feol or other rava. he will be more inclined to be kinder upon first meeting to these people, despite the inclination that rava males are antisocial.hook two. while his tenure in ishgard was brief, he draws a lot of inspiration in his behaviour and dress from his time there.hook three. as an avid lover of the stars, he will be intrigued by any conversation that has to do with astrology or the constellations.
